Calling all Customers! Help us Support Our Local Food Banks

Join Us as Part of Our Second Annual Grassroots Giving Food Drive

Last year, our customers donated over 5017 pounds of food in support of our local food banks. This year, we need your help in trying to do even more!

As part of our 2nd Annual Grassroots Giving food drive, Weed Man is mobilizing our trucks and our technicians to collect donations from our customers throughout the fall season! From September 8 to November 21, 2025, during your regularly scheduled lawn care services, we encourage you to leave non-perishable food donations on your front porch, and we will take care of the rest!

What to Donate

From September 8 to November 21, 2025, we’re partnering with the following food banks:

Saint Vincent de Paul

Requested Items: Protein is one of the most needed—but least donated—items at food pantries. When donating, look for protein-packed in water, low-sodium, and without added oils. Also, essentials. Imagine cooking without basics like flour or sugar. For many food-insecure families, this is a daily challenge. Donating cooking essentials helps our neighbors prepare nutritious, well-rounded meals.

Feeding America Kentucky's Heartland

Requested items: Canned fruit, canned vegetables, soup, canned meat or tuna, peanut butter, cereal, oatmeal, pre-packaged snacks, boxed dinners.

Bloomington, IN - Hoosier Hills Food Bank

Requested items: Canned fruits and vegetables, canned soup and stews, canned proteins, peanut butter, cereals, pasta, tomato sauce, macaroni and cheese, bread/muffin mix

Myrtle Beach, SC - Low Country Food Bank

Requested Items: Canned tuna and meat, canned fruit in water or juice, low-sodium canned vegetables, peanut butter, rice, whole-grain cereal or pasta

This cause has never been more important, as 1 in 8 households in the United States are currently facing food insecurity, while 1 in 5 Canadian families don’t have sufficient access to quality food and other basic needs.

How to Donate

Donating is easy!

  1. The day before your next lawn care application during our Grassroots Giving campaign, you will receive a text or email reminder about your next service.

  2. During our visit, simply leave any food items for donation outside your front door (preferably in a box or bag).

  3. Your Weed Man technician will collect all items while they are there to complete your service.

  4. All donations will benefit our friends at our local food banks!

If you have any questions about what the most requested donation items are for local families, or about what is/isn’t permissible for donation, just reach out to us at lukas.bitz@weedmanusa.com.

Last year, the entire Weed Man fleet (both US and Canada) combined to collect over 76,000 pounds of food (the equivalent of 64,000 meals) across North America. And we need your help to do more this year!

We hope you’ll join us in the fight against food insecurity in our community!
