At Weed Man and Mosquito Hero Muskoka, community involvement is more than just a value; it’s a core part of who we are! Each year, we look for meaningful ways to give back to the region we call home by supporting organizations that are making a real difference in the lives of our neighbours. From animal welfare to health advocacy to community events, we’re proud to have partnered with a variety of incredible local groups in 2025! Here’s a look at some of the sponsorships we’ve been honoured to take part in this year.
Recently, the team made a generous $10,000 donation to Andy's House Hospice located in Port Carling, ON. The donation was inspired by a personal experience shared by Emma, the Technical Manager at Weed Man Muskoka:
" When Steacie had asked where I wanted to donate, I knew without a doubt that Andy's house was the place. This winter, my Aunt Vel had been in the final stages of cancer. She had gone to Andy's House. When visiting, I saw the way the staff and nurses had cared for and connected with everyone who walked through the door. They made everyone feel cared for and made the end of life care for Aunt Vel and our family as comfortable as possible. Aunt Vel was a kind, funny, and very stubborn woman. My biggest fear was that she wouldn't be Aunt Vel anymore, but she very much was. The staff had told me, "She may look different, but it's still her".

Weed Man Muskoka is proud to support the Alzheimer's Society of Muskoka, joining efforts to raise awareness and funds in our community. This year, we sponsored the Walk for Alzheimer’s on May 25, 2025, for the 6th time in a row, helping champion the cause and honouring those affected by this disease that touches many lives.

In April 2025, we presented a $10,000 donation to Muskoka Animal Rescue, a local volunteer organization dedicated to the well-being of companion animals in the Muskoka–Parry Sound region. This cause is especially meaningful to our team, many of us have adopted our own rescue pets from this group. Franchise owner Steacie Lachance has personally adopted seven cats and one dog from Muskoka Animal Rescue over the years, including Chloe, the “office lunch liberator”. Office administrator Shannon Rhyner recently adopted her dog Milo, who serves as the office mascot, and technical manager Emma adopted her cat Pepper.

We were proud to be a sponsor at this year’s Silver Slicers Charity Golf Tournament, helping raise over $50,000 for incredible Muskoka children’s organizations! It was an honour to support causes that are making a real difference in the lives of young people in our community.

At Weed Man Muskoka, we're deeply committed to giving back, whether it’s supporting local non‑profits or helping build stronger neighbourhood relationships. Sponsorship allows us to contribute to causes that directly impact the people and animals we care about, and to foster a spirit of caring throughout the community!
Thank you to our partners:
Alzheimer Society of Muskoka, for their relentless dedication to improving lives touched by dementia.
Muskoka Animal Rescue, for their tireless commitment to rescuing and fostering pets in need.
Andy's House Hospice for their dedication and commitment to patient care.
Muskoka Children's Organizations, for making a difference for the young lives in Muskoka.
Together, we make Muskoka a better place, one partnership at a time.

If someone owns a legacy home or cottage in the Muskoka area, they don’t need much encouragement to tell you all about its storied history.

Spring is here, which means countless people are roaming the aisles of their local hardware store, wondering, “What is the best lawn fertilizer?” Or, “Will this work on my type of grass?”

Is it too early to start thinking about your lawn? Never!
